Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb met a US congress delegation under chairman of Foreign Affairs subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia Dana Tyrone Rohrabacher.
El-Tayyeb highlighted the role of Azhar in spreading moderate Islamic teachings in Egypt and across the globe.
He referred to an international conference organized by Azhar to declare terror groups that kill people under the name of Islam have nothing to do with Islam.
Rohrabacher hailed the role of Azhar in boosting peace in Egypt.
