Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb hailed as deep Egyptian-Sudanese relations in general and Al-Azhar\'s ties with Sudan in particular. This came during el-Tayyeb\'s meeting with Sudanese Speaker of the Council of States Adam Hamid Moussa and the accompanying delegation. The meeting took up means of boosting cooperation between the two sides. Tayyeb expressed readiness to support Sudan with all means of disseminating the moderate Islamic thought to face missionary organizations that started to spread in some Sudanese states. For their part, the delegation asked el-Tayyeb to increase scholarships for Sudanese students.
