Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb warned on Sunday against international plots that aimed at sowing discard and sectarian sedition among Arab countries as evidenced by the situation in Iraq, Syria and Yemen.
El Tayyeb asserted the importance of “Islam and the campaign against terror conference in facing the extremist ideology of the terrorist groups in the Arab region.
El Tayyeb made the remarks during his partaking in the Counter terrorism conference currently in session in Saudi Arabia.
Addressing the conference, al Azhar Imam thanked Saudi Arabia for its positive stances towards Egypt and its support for Al Azhar.
El Tayyeb added that the brutality of the terrorist groups are totally far from Islam teachings.
Also, he called for upgrading the educational process in the Arab countries so that they could restore the strength, unity and stability to achieve progress a la the developed countries.
