The Public Prosecution decided on Thursday to remand director of Al-Azhar\'s dormitory Mohamed Reda Mostafa in custody for four days pending investigations over food poisoning case. The prosecution also decided to postpone interrogations with the sacked president of Al-Azhar University Osama el-Abd to Saturday, after his lawyers submitted a request to put off interrogations. The prosecution addressed the Ministry of Health\'s committee tasked with analyzing the food samples and checking the health measures in the restaurant of the university dormitory. Over 500 students were poisoned after they had lunch from the restaurant of university dormitory. The students felt spasms in the stomach and vomited after eating the lunch food from the restaurant, and then they were moved to hospitals for treatment. In response, the Supreme Council of Al-Azhar decided to dismiss el-Abd after Azhar students staged mass protests calling for firing him.
