The UN General Assembly has elected Jordan as a non-permanent member of the Security Council for the coming two years (2014-2015). The Kingdom of Bahrain today expressed its delight at the unanimous election of the Kingdom of Jordan. In a statement today, Bahrain hailed the UN honour as an Arab achievement which reflects deep respect for the Kingdom of Jordan, led by His Majesty King Abdulla II Ibn Al-Hussain. It lauded Jordan's relations of friendship, international expertise, firm commitment to the UN principles and long-standing history in support global peace and security efforts. It also wished Jordan success in advocating the rights and causes of the Arab and Islamic nations, particularly the Palestinian Cause.
