Bahrain Shura (Advisory) Council today strongly condemned a film defaming Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and distorting the true image of Islam. In a statement issued today quoted by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), it slammed the heinous film which was produced by bigots and extremists who have nothing to do with advocates of human co-existence and religious tolerance. The statement condemned the odious content of the controversial film which contravenes respect of religious and prophets, urging co-existence between civilizations and deeper understanding of the specificities of all religions. \"These unacceptable and abominable practices would only spread hatred and rancor and sow divisions and hostility\", the statement said. The Shura Council said that the world is today is in dire need to promote cooperation between peoples and societies and achieve justice and respect. \"Parties behind this heinous have violated all taboos and flouted all values to fuel the cauldron of religious and sectarian racism\", the statement said, adding that nothing can justify the desecration of religions in the name of freedom of expression. The Shura Council also condemned the violent reactions which targeted US diplomatic missions in several Arab and Muslim countries, urging all Muslims to condemn the heinous film in peaceful and civilized way, to reflect the tolerant image of Islam and abort the attempts of hate-mongers to fuel hatred and rancor.
