Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa today received UNDP Resident Representative Peter Grohmaan and discussed cooperation to promote Bahrain\'s sustained development efforts. Shaikh Khalid stressed the crucial role of the UN in providing technical assistance for countries and societies to achieve further progress and development. He reiterated Bahrain\'s firm commitment to promote cooperation with the UN agencies, stressing the importance of their lofty global goals. Mr Grohmann hailed Bahrain for supporting the UNDP activities, lauding the Government for its landmark achievements on the index of human and sustained development.
