Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa today held talks with Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Immigrants\' Affairs Nasser Joudah on promoting political, economic and social relations. They discussed drawing up new work mechanism to bolster cooperation and ensure the Supreme Joint Commission convenes periodic meetings towards achieving the aspirations of both countries\' leaders and meet peoples\' ambitions. Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa paid tribute to the Kingdom of Jordan for its firm and historic stances in support of Bahrain. The two sides discussed regional and international developments, focusing particularly on the current situation in Syria and the flux of Syrian refugees to Jordan, urging the international community to assume its duties to alleviate the negative impact on Jordanian economy. The developments of the Middle East peace process and the Palestinian cause also came under the spotlight, as Bahrain and Jordan are both members of the Arab peace Initiative Commission. Jordanian Minister of Foreign and Immigrants\' Affairs Nasser Joudah paid tribute to Bahrain for extending relief aid to the Syrian refugees and backing Jordan in all regional and international arenas.
