His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, today received at the Sakhir Palace, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Terje Roed-Larsen, who is currently visiting the country to participate in the Manama Dialogue Forum being held in the Kingdom of Bahrain. HM the King welcomed the UNSG's Special Envoy, and praised the cooperation level reached between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Nations and its specialized bodies and agencies in various fields, in particular development, economic and social, stressing Bahrain's constant aspiration to strengthen cooperation and benefit from the UN development programs. HM the King hailed the efforts of the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon and all his aides in supporting and promoting international peace, security and stability and the prominent role played by the United Nations and its specialized agencies to provide all forms of assistance, support and humanitarian aids to the poor people and the affected, in addition to funding and establishing development projects in line with the UN lofty goals. HM the King asserted Bahrain's support for the efforts of UN development organizations and keenness to establish an effective partnership in the framework of its commitment to bolster international efforts to contribute to formulate a prosperous future for the peoples of all countries of the world. HM the King requested the UNSG's Special Envoy to convey greetings and appreciation to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and wishes of success to continue international efforts in the interest of the peoples of the world. HM the King also reviewed the latest regional and international developments and topics of common concern.
