Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Personal Representative of HM the King, President of the Supreme Council for Environment received Jose Graziano da Silva, Director General of United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the accompanying delegation who are currently visiting the Kingdom.The meeting was in presence of Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning, Dr. Jumaa bin Ahmed Al-Kaabi.At the beginning of the meeting, Shaikh Abdullah welcomed the visit of Jose Graziano da Silva to Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the role of the FAO in achieving food security at the level of world countries and the challenges it addresses, which requires more support, cooperation and coordination between all environmental sectors to achieve sustainable development.During the meeting, they reviewed a number of activities and programmes of the organisation, discussed areas of cooperation and reinforced partnership between the organisation and the Supreme Council for Environment.For his part, the Director General of FAO praised the distinctive efforts of Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa and his sustainable support for all the programmes of the organisations and U.N. environmental bodies, in addition to his keenness to participate in the regional and international conferences and events.Director General of FAO highlighted the advanced standard of Bahrain at the level of agricultural development and food security.
