HM the King’s Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Bahrain Center for Strategic, International and Energy Studies (BCSIES) “Derasat\", Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar received in his office, the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain Shigeki Sumi. He also received Director of the Peace Affairs at Soka Gakkai International Organization (SGI) , Hirotsugu Terasaki. During the meeting, the two visitors expressed their thanks and appreciation for the efforts made by “Derasat” as a participant in the organization of the exhibition “From a Culture of Violence to a Culture of Peace: Towards a World Free of Nuclear Weapons,” which is inaugurated in Manama on Wednesday March 12th 2013. In recognition of the efforts of “Derasat,” in holding the exhibition, Traski presented the (SGI) Shield for Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar. For his part, Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar valued the role of the organization in promoting the culture of peace and tolerance, and praised the idea of the exhibition and holding it in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which Japan supports its directives that aim at limiting the spread of nuclear weapons. Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar stressed that holding such exhibitions contributes in spreading the awareness on the destructive outcomes of the nuclear weapons, and the danger of the race to attain weapons of mass destruction. These exhibitions also encourage to enhance further discussions on this very important issue related to security and world peace, which is directly reflected on the stability and well-being of peoples and countries. On the other hand, Manama is considered the first city in the Middle East to embrace such exhibition.
