Human Rights Affairs Minister Dr. Salah bin Ali Abdulrahman met today Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al Arabi, in the presence of Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa. The Arab League Secretary General hailed Bahrain\'s efforts to boost human rights and honour its national and international obligations. He also praised the kingdom\'s efforts in reviewing its first national report today before the Arab League Human Rights Committee, reiterating the Arab League\'s support to the tremendous efforts exerted by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government to promote the culture of human rights, fast-track reforms and restore national unity. The Human Rights Affairs Minister discussed with the Arab League Secretary General ongoing preparations for the conference, which is set to be hosted by Bahrain by end of this month, on setting up an Arab Human Rights Court. The Arab League Secretary General lauded the initiative of HM King Hamad, describing creation of the court as a civilizational turning point that will contribute to the Arab League\'s efforts to boost respect of human rights. Both sides also discussed the latest regional and international developments and issues of common concern.
