Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to the Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, as well as their good wishes to him and to the Indian people of further progress and prosperity.
The Foreign Minister handed over to the Indian Prime Minister a written message from HRH Premier on bilateral relations, ways to bolster them in various fields and enhance the joint strategic partnership to meet the aspiration of the two friendly countries' leaderships and peoples.
The Minister affirmed the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and their social, historical and trade ties that are well-established on strong foundations.
He said that the progress of ties with the Republic of India was of great interest to the leadership and the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to benefit from the opportunities available and develop these relations in the interest of both countries.
He said that the First India-Bahrain High Joint Commission, which convened here yesterday, would have a major role in boosting these ties and actively contribute to achieving the aspirations of the two countries.
He praised the positive efforts of the Indian community in the Kingdom of Bahrain and its historic contribution to the development process, together with the national efforts carried out by the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The Indian Prime Minister praised the progress of Bahrain in all fields, affirming the keenness of his country on supporting all areas of joint cooperation to further develop consultation and coordination on various issues.
He requested the Minister to convey his greetings to His Majesty the King, HRH Premier and HRH the Crown Prince, and good wishes to them and to the Kingdom of Bahrain for further progress and prosperity.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations and the means of bolstering these ties, in addition to the latest regional and international developments.
