Shura Council President Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh today hailed the landmark visit of His Majesty King Hamad bin Al-Khalifa to India. In statement today, he hailed the positive outcome of HM the King's first-ever visit to the Asian giant."The visit to a country known for its political and economic leverage in the Asian and global arenas is a major catalyst for political, business and investment cooperation", he said. He underscored the importance of the key state official visit, which, he said, reflects shared commitment to bolster relations on the basis of joint interests and deep-rooted historical ties.He said that the visit would expand the scope of cooperation, describing the positive outcome of the Bahrain-India Summit as a quantum leap forward. He stressed particularly the importance of the signed agreements and memoranda of understanding, whose future dividends will benefit the two countries.He said that the historic visit laid the foundations for a developed partnership which will reinforce investment and trade opportunities, commending HM the King's far-sighted vision with the economy ranking high on his agenda."Indian is the third biggest economy in Asian and the fastest growing in the world", he said, stressing Bahrain's strategic importance as a key hub in the region. He paid tribute to the Indian expatriate community for their contribution in Bahrain's development and progress, describing the Kingdom as an oasis of security that embraces all sects and nationalities and a plaque-tournante for cooperation with all countries in the world.
