Minister of State for Defence Affairs Lt. General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended today an honouring ceremony, held in his honour, as part of the International Medical Conference (Mayo Clinic) on Cardio-vascular diseases in the Gulf Hotel’s conferences hall.He welcomed participants and organisers of the conference, wishing them every success in attaining forecast goals.He underscored the importance of the conference, which is held for the first time outside the USA, taking pride in Bahrain’s hosting of it.He said organising the conference in Bahrain affirms Bahrain Defence Force’s interest in organising functions and medical conferences to optimise healthcare provided for the people.Then, he listened to a detailed briefing on Mayo Clinic by Prof. Nasser Ammash, one of the conference’s coordinators from the USA, who spotlighted the history of the institution that has been providing health services for heart patients for more than 150 years.Prof. Ammash pointed out the importance and positive outcome of organising the conference in Bahrain.At the end, the State Minister for Defence Affairs honoured the organisers of the conference and the medical team from Mayo Clinic who lectured at the event.The celebration was attended by Health Ministry Undersecretary Doctor Aisha Mubarak Bu Unq.
