UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and a delegation accompanying him arrived in Kuwait Tuesday to participate in the Second International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria, due on Wednesday. Ban accompanied First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in a visit to Bayan Palace to get acquainted with final preparations for the conference. The visit was followed by a dinner banquet held by Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled for Ban, during which the two officials discussed regional and international developments, as well as preparations for the one-day meeting. Dr. Abdullah Al-Maatouq, Amiri Diwan Advisor, Foreign Undersecretary Khaled Al-Jarallah, Director of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled's office Sheikh Dr. ambassador Ahmad Nasser Mohammad Al-Sabah, Director of the International Organizations Department Jassem Al-Mubaraki, director of protocols Dhari Al-Ajran, Director of Al-Jarallah's office Ayham Al-Omar, Kuwait's Ambassador to the UN and international organizations in Geneva Jamal Al-Ghunaim and Kuwait's UN envoy Mansour Al-Otaibi were present during the visit and in the dinner banquet.
