UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon condemned in the strongest terms, the killing of Thierno Aliou Diaoune, a National Coordinator for the UN Peacebuilding Fund, in Conakry, Guinea.
Ban's press office said in a statement that Diaoune was a trusted UN partner and a tireless advocate for the construction of peace, democracy and human rights in Guinea.
The UN official welcomed the announcement by the Government of a full investigation into Diaoune's death, and presented his sincere condolences to his family.
The deceased was shot by gunmen February 6th, when he was returning to his family in Kobay.
