Dhaka - XINHUA
At least two people including a minor boy were killed and another person was injured critically in a gunfight between two rival groups of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) party in the country\'s southeastern Chittagong seaport city Monday. The activists of Jubo League, youth front of the AL, and Chhatra League, a student wing of the ruling party, engaged in the gun battle Monday afternoon over dropping a tender on the renovation work of a railway station, a police official told Xinhua from Chittatong, some 242 km southeast of capital Dhaka. The official who preferred to be unnamed said the gunfight left the minor boy dead on the spot while another man succumbed to his injuries after he was rushed to Chittagong Medical College and Hospital. Such gunfights are a common phenomena in the South Asian country where a section of ruling party men are always found to be engaged in criminal or immoral activities like tender manipulation.
