Caretaker Energy and Water Minister, Jibran Bassil, said "we don't want any parliamentary elections law not ensuring true parity between Christians and Muslims, and we neither want at the same time any postponement of elections nor any extension to the parliamentary council's power period." Bassil visited on Tuesday the Maronite Patriarch, Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, and congratulated him on the Holy Easter occasion. "What builds for a government and for resuming balance in the country and its ruling system, is a good elections law," said Bassil, who explained that the law issue is a priority to the Free Patriotic Movement and upon the base of a good law "we work on the government issue." Rahi received today a number of dignitaries who came to congratulate him on the Holy Easter occasion. Amongst the visitors had been the Syrian Ambassador, Ali Abdul Karim Ali, MP George Adwan, a delegation of the Lebanese Army Command, and others.
