Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi said voting in the constitutional referendum is a national duty. "It's national duty so everyone should take part," he said while he following the vote at the state-run Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC). "Today is a historical day," he said. Polling stations have opened across Egypt as millions of voters in the country are set to vote in the constitutional referendum. Balloting stations, surrounded by heavy security presence, were receiving queues of citizens. The new charter aims to replace the constitution passed under deposed president Mohammed Morsi months.
