Belarusian Ambassador to Egypt Sergey Rashnikov said Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus Valentin Rybakov asserted to Egypt's Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Hatem Seif al Nasr that his country is backing Egypt's bid for a non-permanent UN Seat.

This came during the sixth round of political consultations held here between the two countries late Monday.

In statements to MENA on Tuesday, the Belarusian ambassador said consultations covered means of bolstering relations in the economic, trade and political fields as well as tourism, sport, education and culture.

The two sides discussed exchanging visits between officials in the two countries, noting that the Belarusian deputy foreign minister discussed with Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade means of beefing up economic and trade relations.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry hosted late Monday the sixth round of political consultations between Egypt and Belarus which grouped Assistant Foreign Minister Haten Seif el Nasr and Belarusian Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Rybakov.
