Belgian Prime Minister Elio Di Rupo is to leave Thursday for Lebanon to visit the Belgian UN peacekeeping mission UNFIL. He is expected to meet Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and also visit a Syrian refugee camp. However, according to Belgian media reports, his departure this morning was delayed due to technical problems in the military aircraft and is expected to leave later in the day. Belgium has been taking part in the UN mission since 2006, after the conflict between Hezbollah and Israel. Over 5,500 Belgian soldiers have been sent to the area till now who are engaged in mine-clearing operations in the border area between Lebanon and Israel.
