Israeli police could be allowed to open live sniper fire against stone-throwers after Benjamin Netanyahu requested advice on whether the move would be legal.
Netanyahu said he planned to change the rules of engagement and declare "war against stone-throwers and firebomb throwers" following this week's death of an Israeli motorist, Alexander Levlovitch, who lost control of his car apparently after it was hit by a stone, The Telegraph reported on Thursday.
“We are changing our policy," the Israeli leader told reporters during a tour of the 443 road, which passes through the West Bank and which has been the scene of stone-throwing incidents.
