Benomar did not make any statement on the right of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh to run for the upcoming elections ,an official source at the office of the UN Secretary General’s envoy to Yemen, Jamal Benomar, has confirmed. The source denied that Benomar has said that there is no text obliging Saleh to leave the political action or prevent him or his son or any former Yemeni official to practice the political action or to run stand for the upcoming presidential or parliamentary elections. The source added that the remarks attributed to Benomar are completely untrue.
