Blast causes injuries at Turkish checkpoint

Several people were injured Friday in an explosion at a police checkpoint in southern Turkey in a region bordering Syria, the Dogan news agency reported.
Among those injured was a police officer, the report said.
The incident took place near Suruc, a town a few kilometres north of Kobane, a Syrian city that Kurdish fighters, with the help of US-led airstrikes, retook last month from the Islamic State militant group after a lengthy siege.
