Bodies of Turkish brothers Ugur and Suleyman Aygun were brought to Turkey after they had been kept in a Belgian morgue for 937 days. Ugur Aygun (32) and Suleyman Aygun (33), who had been killed in a fight in Meulebeke town in Belgium in 2010, had been kept in a morgue due to the request of prosecutor since that date. Bodies of Aygun brothers were finally brought to their hometown Afyonkarahisar for a funeral ceremony. They will be laid to rest in their Guvecci village in Emirdag town of Afyonkarahisar. In 2010, Ugur and Suleyman had been killed in a fight in the Felimish province of Belgium. Kortrijk Prosecutor Marc Allegaert did not allow handing over of the bodies to Turkey for funeral as he might need a re-examination on bodies within the scope of the investigation. Despite all assurances given by Turkish authorities, Allegaert did not step back and give permission for the transfer of the bodies to Turkey as the plane carrying the bodies \"lacked the guarantee of not crashing\". After assailants were captured and confessed their crimes, the prosecutor still did not hand over the bodies, however, he consented a burial in Belgium. Thus, he showed as if it had been the decision of Aygun family to keep the brothers in the morgue, and moreover he made the family pay the morgue fee exceeding 130,000 euro. Recently, the prosecutor completed his preparatory investigation and presented it to the court. The court decided not to keep the bodies as evidence, and allow the family to claim and transfer them to Turkey on April 5.
