The Japanese Embassy in Brazil on Friday confirmed media reports that Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has canceled a trip scheduled for early December to Japan, Kyodo reported.
The trip, also including a visit to Vietnam, was called off to save money after a Congress decision forced her to make an additional budget freeze, according to Reuters.
The president will go ahead with her plan to attend a U.N. climate conference, which will open in Paris on Monday, but will not now travel on to Japan and Vietnam, according to the media report.
