Russia summoned Britain's military attache to explain claims that RAF pilots have been given permission to shoot down Putin's jets, it has emerged.
There have been reports that British Tornados targeting ISIS in Iraq have been armed with missiles for aerial combat - and that pilots have been cleared to attack Russian planes if fired on, the Daily Mail reported on Monday.
But the claims have been dismissed as 'inaccurate' by the Foreign Office, which says a British attache in Moscow has since held meetings at the Russian Defence Ministry.
