British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Tuesday London did not intend to hand over the Syrian embassy to the opposition.He said Britain recognized the Syrian opposition coalition of the revolutionary forces as the sole legitimate representative of the Syrian people, but there were legal considerations regarding the hand over of the Embassy.Hague was speaking at a news conference following his meeting with Syrian opposition interim prime minister Ghassan Hitto, chairman of the Syrian National Council (SNC) George Sabra and deputy head of the coalition Suhair Atassi.Hague said the Syrian conflict would top the agenda of the G8 foreign ministers\' meeting tomorrow in London.He said the Syrian opposition officials would be meeting some of the G8 foreign ministers to discuss the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people.Hague said he discussed with the opposition officials how to provide aid for the Syrians inside the country.He said it was important to supply the opposition with operational equipment.
