The British government strongly condemned on Wednesday the two explosions that rumbled across Beirut's southern suburbs earlier today, killing at least five people and injuring 124 others. "I strongly condemn the terrorist attack near the Iranian Cultural Centre in southern Beirut today and send my condolences to the families of those killed and injured, and to the people of Lebanon," Minister of State for the Middle East Hugh Robertson said in a statement. "Such criminal and callous attacks cannot be allowed to destabilize the country and the wider region," Robertson added, asserting at the same time that his country is "strongly" committed to working with the new Lebanese government in support of peace and stability. A twin blast rumbled across southern suburbs of Beirut today inflicting at least five deaths and over 100 injuries.
