Cairo - MENA
Egypt\'s Administrative Court has adjourned until
March 12 a lawsuit calling for the dissolution of the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood has failed to abide by a 2002 law governing NGOs which
forbids such religious-based groups from practicing politics, according to
the lawyers who filed the lawsuit. The penalty for failing to abide by the
law is dissolution of the group.
The group\'s legal status has been a matter of contention for several
years. A number of political figures have been calling for the group to
legalize its status and register with the state so it\'s funding and
activities can be monitored.
