Bulgaria on Monday opened the last sector of country\'s first motorway connecting its capital to the Black Sea coast. Construction of the 356-km motorway running from Sofia to Burgas began in 1973, with the first 120km from Sofia to Plovdiv completed in 1985. The Balkan country currently ranked the last in terms of motorway density in the European Union. At the beginning of 2011, the total length of the national roads in Bulgaria was 19,393 km, with only 421 km of them motorways.
