Egypt vehemently denounced recent statements by an Israeli official expecting Egypt not to condone a potential attack on Israel. Israeli Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon had claimed that his country expected Cairo to be interested in its security situation and to bring to accountability anyone who might plan to attack Israel even if they come from another country.Spokesman for the Egyptian Foreign Ministry Bader Abdelati said: "The Israeli official's statements are serious and contradict international law and the UN Charter." "Such statements are categorically unacceptable as Egypt is resolutely determined to maintain its national sovereignty and security," he said.
