Canada's embassy in Sudan will remain closed today in extension to yesterday, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced. "We're looking at this day by day and monitoring the situation," said Rick Roth, a spokesman for Baird. Roth had said the missions were to be closed in order to ensure the safety of diplomatic staff. Canada had closed its embassy in Tehran on September 7th. Three Canadian embassies were closed yesterday in Cairo, Tripoli and Khartoum.
