Chilean President Michelle Bachelet said Wednesday night that she has asked all the cabinet ministers to resign and she would announce a new cabinet within 72 hours.

"A few hours ago, I asked the resignation of all ministers, and I will decide who will stay and who will go in 72 hours," said Bachelet during an interview on local TV channel called "What's wrong with Chile?"

"I do not want to do things that are more evil," she said.

The cabinet reshuffle came 14 months after Bachelet assumed her second term. A survey showed a majority of the public disapproved of the progress of her government.
