China's Ministry of Defense spokesman Yang Yujun denied Thursday media reports that China was currently building a second aircraft carrier in Shanghai. According to Chinese news agency (Xihnua), Yujun said: "The reports are inaccurate." The remarks came two days after the country's first aircraft carrier Liaoning was officially commissioned. Meanwhile, some foreign media claimed that China was building its second aircraft carrier on Changxing Island off Shanghai, expected to leave the shipyard by the end of this year.
