China's Special Envoy on the Middle East Issue Ambassador Gong Xiaosheng will attend the third International Humanitarian Pledging Conference for Syria will be held on March 31 in Kuwait, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying said in a statement Tuesday.
"The conflict in Syria has plunged the Syrian people into plight. The humanitarian situation there is disturbing," she said.
She added that the Chinese side was playing a constructive role in pushing for the political settlement of the Syrian issue.
"We have done our best to deliver, through various channels, multiple batches of humanitarian supplies and assistance to the Syrian people and overseas Syrian refugees," she noted.
