Beijing - MENA
China has welcomed a five-day humanitarian ceasefire agreed between the different Yemeni factions to allow aid into the war-torn country.
Hopefully the truce would help alleviate the humanitarian problem in Yemen, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying Monday.
She urged bodies concerned to seriously act to implement UN Security Council resolutions and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative to settle disputes through political dialogue.
The conflicting factions in Yemen announced the truce Sunday following a proposal by Saudi Arabia.
