Interior Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Border Security Mjr. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed Yousuf Al-Sabah on Thursday underlined the full readiness of the General Administration of the Coast Guards (GACG) to secure the reception of the guests of Kuwait and delegations participating in the November 19-20 Third Africa-Arab Summit. The administration has adopted an early comprehensive security plan for the event that included deployment of interceptive boats and patrols in the territorial waters in general and in certain locations, al-Sabah said in a press statement today. In order to control security in the Kuwaiti territorial waters, responsibilities have been already identified for the naval forces of the Kuwaiti Army and the GACG, the top commander said, noting that the GACG's duties were set for sites security before the conference, during and after. He noted that the GACG's tasks also included confronting penetrations of coastal boundaries in coordination and cooperation with the naval forces of the Kuwaiti army. There are also liaison officers to coordinate between the two sides of the Kuwaiti forces in securing the territorial waters, said Al-Sabah. He warned sea goers not to approach certain sites, especially those close to accommodation of participating delegations.
