Egypt's Ambassador in Kinshasa Hani Salah received at the Egyptian embassy Congolese Minister for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Francophonie Affairs Raymond Tshibanda N'tungamulongo who conveyed the condolences of President Joseph Kabila on the assassination of Egypt's Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat.

The Congolese minister wrote down a message in a book opened by the Embassy for condolences, the foreign ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

The Egyptian ambassador voiced appreciation for such kind gesture by the Congolese side and stressed strong bilateral relations.

The minister expressed interest in the Egyptian grant worth dlrs 10.5 million as part of the cooperation protocol between the two sides which will fund a project on integral management of water resources. The grant was announced during a visit to Kinshasa on may 29-30 by Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi.
