Costa Rica is willing to support Vietnam in strengthening relations with other Latin American nations, said Costa Rican Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship Jose Enrique Castillo Barrantes. During the meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung here on Monday, the Costa Rican minister said his visit aims to foster cooperation with Vietnam in various areas, especially economy, trade and investment. The minister said during talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, the two sides reviewed the bilateral cooperation, discussed measures to promote cooperation between the two countries. The two sides shared the view over the necessary to sign cooperation agreements, including ones on investment protection, avoidance of double taxation and education cooperation. Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, for his part, said both countries need to maintain their political consultations and further support each other at multilateral forums. Dung highly valued the result of talks between the two foreign ministers and believed that Barrantes\' visit will contribute to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Vietnam and Costa Rica established diplomatic relations in 1976.
