Cuban Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rogelio Sierra said Cuba firmly opposes any direct or indirect aggression on Syria. Sierra, who is on a current visit to Cairo, expressed his country's rejection of the political exploitation of the crisis in Syria, calling on the international community to abstain from interference in the Syrian domestic affairs and respect the Syrian people's right to determine their own destiny. He considered that the solution in Syria should be an internal and independent one, stressing that Syria is a sovereign state whose sovereignty should be respected.
