British anti-war campaigners will hold daily protests in London\'s Parliament Square beginning from June 3 in solidarity with the striking inmates in the notorious US detention center at Guantanamo Bay. The protesters will \"demand urgent action\" from the British government to bring back Shaker Aamer, the last British inmate at Guantanamo, press tv reported. Aamer has been on hunger strike for some 100 days now and experts have warned that he is probably beyond what is known to cause \"irreversible cognitive impairment\" for lack of food. American officials have admitted that some 100 of the 166 Guantanamo inmates are on hunger strike, while their lawyers have made estimates of up to 144, with 21 prisoners being force-fed. The prisoners have gone on hunger strikes in protest to detention conditions and their endless imprisonment without charge or trial. The daily protests have been organized by Save Shaker Aamer campaign group, which gathered 117,000 signatures for a petition launched in April to call for his release. Earlier on May 9, activists staged a protest outside the British parliament to call for government\'s action to ensure Aamer\'s release. The Save Shaker Aamer campaign group also held related daily vigils outside the House of Commons between May 9 and 21.
