Eight people have been arrested in Denmark for allegedly providing a terrorist organization with as much as $24.5 million in funding, Copenhagen police said. The individuals are suspected of financing the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which the United States, Canada and the European Union list as a terrorist organization, the Copenhagen Post reported Tuesday. Those arrested are between the ages of 27 and 71. Police said the suspects are believed to have collected between $4.7 million and $24.5 million. The exact amount involved cannot be determined, police said, until they can document how long each suspect is alleged to have collected and distributed money. The arrests are linked to investigations of Roj TV, a Kurdish station based in Copenhagen, police said in a statement. The station was fined $455,000 in January for violation anti-terror laws but still has its license to broadcast. Police said the investigation was primarily focused on Turkish citizens of Kurdish descent who live in Denmark.
