Davos forum issues book on Mufti's initiative to confront extremist ideology

The World Economic Forum in Davos has issued a book by Egypt's Grand Mufti Dr Shawki Allam on his initiative to confront extremist ideology and the necessity of adopting new policies to confront it.

The book will be distributed to all the participants in the forum, which is currently being held in eastern Switzerland.

The celebration held yesterday to launch the book, entitled "The annual report for dialogue: Initiative of Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam, was attended by Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva Michael Mueller and the adviser of the UN chief along with a host of religious, political and media figures.

The book includes several important messages to understand the terrorism phenomenon, which poses a threat to the security of world countries, according to a statement issued by Egypt's Darul-Ifta on Thursday.

Allam's initiative is aiming for a better understanding regarding the motives for extremism and for a clear call to accept principles, standards, and laws, added the statement.

The book also puts the entire international community in front of a responsibility of adopting serious policies on the ground and supporting Egypt in its war against terrorism, said the statement.
