Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has questioned the Syrian regime’s stance of refusing to discuss an interim government without President Bashar al-Assad at the Geneva II conference.“The Syrian regime says they will not recognize any interim government. Then, why are they in Geneva?” Davutoglu asked at a press conference on the sidelines of the 22nd African Union summit in the Ethiopian capital of Addis Ababa, Anadolu Agency reported on Friday.He accused the Syrian regime of stalling, pointing to its delegation’s invitation of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC) to continue talks in Damascus despite the security situation there. Davutoglu said physically attending the Geneva II talks is not enough if there was not an agreement to abide by the consensus reached at Geneva I.
