UN envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura will meet with the Syrian government delegation on Friday in the beginning of the Geneva talks, his spokeswoman Jesse Shaheen said.

The Syrian government delegation is led by the Permanent Representative of the Syrian Arab Republic to the United Nations, Bashar Jaafari, Shaheen said.

De Mistura will also continue meetings with other participants in the talks and with representatives of the civil society, she added.
