Chairman of Darfur Regional Authority, Dr. Al-Tigani Al-Sessi, affirmed that Darfur Document for Peace in Darfur will remain open for the armed movements to join the peace process. At a symposium organized by Al-Ahram Studies\' Center in Cairo, Dr. Al-Sessi said that he will be ready to step down and relinquish his position in favor of the Justice and Equality Movement or Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur, provided that they accept the others without exclusion. He said that the priorities of Darfur Regional Authority include the voluntary return of 1.5 million displaced persons, implementation of rehabilitation and development programs, patching up the rift in the social fabric and sustainability of security in Darfur region. Dr. Al-Sessi expressed his optimism over implementation of the recent cooperation agreement between Khartoum and Juba, hoping that it will have positive impact over the situation in Darfur, indicating that South Sudan remained working to fuel Darfur crisis with the aim to put pressure on the center for the sake of getting negotiation and political gains. He said that the delay in providing finance has resulted in delay in carrying out of Darfur Regional Authority to its tasks, adding that funding began to arrive and that the State of Qatar has pledged to extend 560 million dollars for building repatriation villages. Meanwhile, the Minister of Investment, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, said that Dr. Al-Sessi assumed the position of Greater Darfur when he was at the age of 31 years; therefore he knows well the need of Darfur for development, stability and political accord. Dr. Ismail said that Darfur has benefited from the Arab Spring revolutions which led to demise of foreign interventions, especially the Libyan intervention.
