The Netherlands will hold general elections on Wednesday to elect a new 150-seat lower house of parliament. Opinion polls published in the Dutch media show that the right wing-party VVD led by caretaker prime minister Mark Rutte and the centre-left Social Democrats (PvdA) are neck in neck with 35 seats each. Analysts opine that a coalition government between the two parties is the most likely outcome. The Socialists and Geert Wilders' anti-Islam PVV are vying for third place. The Christian democratic CDA, left-liberal D66, the Christian Union (CU) and Green Left are also expected to get elected. The poll also show that as many as 43 percent of voters are still undecided. The elections in the Netherlands will be watched closely in Europe because the country is an important creditor country in the eurozone.
