Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met Monday his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni, who arrived here earlier in the day on an official visit.

The Egyptian-Italian talks, which are continuing in the meantime, focus on ways of boosting cooperation ties between Cairo and Rome in the various fields.

The talks also tackle a host of regional and international issues of mutual interest, including combating terrorism.

The two ministers are scheduled to hold a joint press conference later.
